Drawing on the work of Johann Kaspar Lavater, who revived the pseudoscience this scarce volume shares Thomas Cooke's understanding of the Science of physiognomy. Physiognomy is the practice of assessing a person's character or personality from their outer appearance, and this volume also contains some observations on the temperaments, and a memoir of the Thomas Cooke.
