What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Pleasing Copy, Rebound, Scarce

The first edition of this work.

Comprising the Fables of Aesop and others, selected by the author. The fables are considered moral tales, with teachings in the religious and secular aspects of life. These stories are credited to ancient Greek Aesop, a slave and storyteller; To this day, however, new stories are credited to Aesop and added to the collection, although most are demonstrated to be more recent and by various unknown authors.

This volume including fables such as 'The Ape and the Fox,' 'The Fox and the Grapes,' 'The Horse and the Stag,' and many others.

Profusely illustrated by Thomas Bewick, who notoriously created illustrations of Aesop's Fables throughout his life.
