Text in Greek and Latin. One volume in two. An annotated copy to margins in pencil, bound with blank leaves in-between each page with additional pencil annotations throughout in English. Previous owner unspecified.

The fourth edition. A very scarce work in all edition, rarely seen in commerce. Preface dated 1715.

Aristotle's 'Nicomachean Ethics' is his best known work on ethics, discussing the question of how men should best live while exploring the importance of good moral conduct, which is the goal of all our actions. The aim of the inquiry is political science and the master art of politics.

Condition

In uniform full calf bindings with titles in gilt to morocco spine labels, new endpapers. Externally generally smart with minor shelf wear, lightly bumped and rubbed to head and tail of spine and extremities of boards, which are lightly marked. Odd light spotting scattered to occasional leaf, pages are presented otherwise generally bright and clean.
