    Complete in four volumes.

    Scarce to find all four volumes together as a set.

    An extensive compendium of the veterinary science, an essential work looking into the treatment of many common and less common diseases of animals.

    Volume I, the thirteenth edition, published in 1822. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, one folding plate, three colour plates, and nineteen monochrome plates. Collated, complete.

    Volume II, the fourth edition, published in 1823. Illustrated with a frontispiece. Two pages of adverts to the rear.

    Volume III, the sixth edition, published in 1823. 

    Volume IV, the second edition, published in 1818. Illustrated with four plates. Frontispiece has been excised.

    Condition

    Volume I in a full calf binding, Volumes II, III, and IV in a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, with some rubbing and marking to the boards and spines. A little loss to the spines, however Volume IV lacking the majority of the backstrip. Boards of Volume I are detached, front board present, lacking the rear board. Joints and hinges of Volumes II and III are strained. Boards of Volume IV are detached but present. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down of Volumes I and IV, and to the recto to the front endpaper of Volume IV. Front endpaper of Volume III is detached but present. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some spots. Page xxiii/xiv of Volume I is misbound after the title page. Frontispiece of Volume IV has been excised. Page ix/x of Volume IV has been misbound after the dedication leaf. Tidemark to the last few pages of Volume IV, including the plates.
