Illustrated, with a frontispiece and twenty-one portraits of eminent noblemen who fought for England. 

With the full title: A Survey of England's Champions and Truths Faithfull Patriots or a Chronological Recitement of the Principall Proceedings of the Most Worthy Commanders of the Prosperous Armies Raised for the Preservation of Religion, the Kings Majesties Person.

This work contains short biographies of the likes of: the Earl of Calender, Edward Earle of Manchester, Edward Massey, Sir William Waller and Sir Thomas Fairfax.  

A scarce work in any edition, and this 19th century facsimile has been very smartly bound. 

Condition

In a half calf binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the joints and to the head and tail of spine. A few light marks to boards. Former owner's bookplate to the front pastedown, William Shippery. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages.
