The essay was not the first work to be published on population, but it was incredibly influential, as contributed to the passing of the 1800 Census Act.
This addition volume highlights key issues in the original work and expands upon them, giving the reader a wider understanding of the issue of population.
Written by Thomas Robert Malthus, a scholar who is best known for this work, and for his influential economics.
