What Our Customers Say...

Description

Leather Binding

With a memoir by Robert Anderson. Tobias George Smollett was a Scottish poet and author best known for his picaresque novels. His works influenced later writers such as Charles Dickens and George Orwell. Smollet's first published work was a poem about the Battle of Culloden entitled "The Tears of Scotland" but it was The Adventures of Roderick Random which made his name, modelled on Le Sage's Gil Blas. His second Novel, The Adventures of Peregrine Pickle, perhaps his best known work, was another big success following the fortunes and misfortunes of the egotistical dandy Peregrine Pickle. A nice set priced to allow for repair to volume 1.
