In two volumes, being Volumes I and II of a total of III volumes, thus lacking Volume III.

A collection of the tragedies of Vittorio Alfieri, translated into English.

Containing 'Philip', 'Polinices', 'Antigone', 'Virginia', 'Agamemnon', 'Orestes', 'Rosmunda', 'Octavia', 'Timoleon', 'Merope', 'Mary Stuart', and 'The Conspiracy of the Pazzi'.

Alfieri was an Italian dramatist and poet, who is considered to be the founder of Italian tragedy, writing a total of nineteen tragedies. 

Translated into English by Charles Lloyd.

Condition

Rebound in a cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Some very minor marks to the boards and spines. Spine labels are discoloured with some chips and tidemarks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with a few scattered spots.
