Leather Binding

This work was originally produced by Thomas Morrell and has been revised by Edward Maltby. Maltby was an English clergyman and Bishop of Durham. His views were controversial due to his liberal attitude towards politics. Complete in two volumes.

Condition

In quarter calf bindings with marbled paper boards. Externally, rubbed to the spines and joints. Rubbing is heaviest to the head and tail of spines. Small loss to the head of volume II. Light patches of rubbing to the paper covered boards. Minor bumping to the extremities. Prior owner's inscription to the front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with instances of light spotting to pages, heavier to the first and last few pages
