The second edition of this extensive study into the figures and compositions of the Greek, Roman, and Etruscan vases in the collection of Sir William Hamilton

Hamilton was an antiquarian, volcanologist, and archaeologist, who mainly obtained his vases from dealers or collectors, but sometimes even opened tombs himself. In this work, Hamilton offers detailed observations about his own collection.

Illustrated with sixty-two plates from illustrator and engraver Thomas Kirk. Collated, complete.

Condition

In a half calf binding with marbled paper covered boards. Front and rear joints starting and holding firm, though held by cords only. Bumping to spine head and tail and board extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Light offsetting from plates, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
