What Our Customers Say...

Description

Folding Maps, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Rebound, Uncommon

This uncommon fifth edition of historian and minister Robert Henry's highly successful twelve part 'The History of Great Britain', presents the story of the British Isles starting from Julius Caesar's Roman invasion. A co-founder of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Henry was an accomplished minister in the Church of Scotland and his historical work was well received, organising by subject and following them out chronologically separately. Originally published in just six volumes in 1771, this fifth edition was much expanded and updated, as well as being separated further for ease of reading. Twelve volumes. With binder's stamp: 'White. 24 Pall Mall.' A comprehensive and intriguing look at the history of Britain, Robert Henry's collected works offers the reader a uniquely presented look at the past of Great Britain.

Condition

Rebound in half calf with marbled boards. Externally, sound, with some rubbing to the leather of all volumes, particularly to the joints and extremities. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages in all volumes are generally bright, with some spotting and handling marks throughout.
