1813 Rokeby; A Poem
What Our Customers Say...
Early Edition, Leather Binding
A narrative poem by Sir Walter Scott arranged in six cantos, set in Teesdale during the English Civil War.
A popular work, which saw five editions in the year of publication, and sold ten thousand copies in its first three months.
The poem grew from Scott's friendship with J. B. S. Morritt, whose home at Rokeby Park is the setting of the poem.
A smart copy of this early edition of Scott's work.
In a full calf binding. Light rubbing to board perimeters, with joints starting and boards firmly held. Front hinge reinforced. Internally, firmly bound. Instances of light spotting and discolouration throughout, with pages lightly age toned.
