A striking topographical work of Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, three parts complete of volume I in uniform bindings of a seven volume set. Large paper volumes. The first edition of this volume. 

An impressive work by Daniel and Samuel Lyson, a series published between 1806 and 1822. A valuable contribution to topography of Great Britain, with inclusion of content such as population, manufacture, and commerce, not usually present in works of the time. 

Illustrated with one hand-coloured folding map and eleven full page plates to part I, two of which folding; one hand-colour folding map and thirty plates to part II, of which nine folding and two folding in colour; and one double page hand coloured map, one hand coloured folding plate, and eleven further plates to part III. Collated, complete.

Condition

Rebound in uniform quarter crushed morocco, with cloth covered boards, new endpapers. Back strip significantly faded. Light marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Some spotting and offsetting particularly to leaves facing plates, with pages otherwise generally clean and bright. With numerous plates to each folding, including hand-coloured maps and folding plates, some in colour. Collated, complete.
