    Description

    Illustrated, Leather Binding, Scarce

    A scarce miniature work, with the first edition published in 1810. 

    Bound in full straight grain morocco. 

    A charming history of Ancient Greece as told through a series of engravings designed by Alfred Mills, whose works commonly showed up in small books such as these and aimed at young readers. 

    Collated, with forty-seven plates of engravings (lacks one plate).

    With depictions of events and figures such as Solon and Croesus, Aristides inscribing his name on a shell, the death of Alcibiades and much more.

    Condition

    In full straight grain morocco. Externally, smart. With rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine gilt. Front hinge is starting, but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright, with offsetting to the endpapers and light scattered spots.
