This very scarce volume consists of abstracts of pleadings before the King in Parliament and Council, and before the constituted Authorities, from between the twelfth and fourteenth centuries, and contains accounts of petitions and proceedings in parliament.
Illustrated with three facsimile plates. Collated, complete.
With the stamp and inscription of the Worcester College publisher's library to the front pastedown, and their crest in gilt to the front board.
A wonderfully informative and very scarce collection of medieval English legal documents, largely records of the courts of Curia Regis and King's Bench.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Significant rubbing to board perimeters and joints, with losses of leather at joints, most significantly to rear joint head. Joints starting, but firmly held. Inscription and stamp to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with light spotting to first and last few leaves.
