Leather Binding

A three volume set of Sermons by Thomas Gisborne, including two volumes of Sermons and one volume of Sermons Principally Designed to Illustrated and to Enforce Christian Morality. 

Thomas Gisborne was an English Anglican Priest and poet and these volumes are a collection of his sermons. He was a member of the Clapham Sect who fought for the abolition of the slave trade in England. 

The first volume is seventh edition copy, published in 1814, the second volume is a sixth edition copy published in 1811 and the third volume is a third edition copy published in 1813. 


Condition

In full calf binding. Externally, generally smart with rubbing and marks to the spines, especially to volume ii and marks and rubbing to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with bright pages with some light scattered spots to the first two volumes.
