With the armorial bookplate of distinguished British Army officer Colonel Alfred Dyke Acland to the front pastedown.
With the former owners' inscription of 'Beckitt, Thorne' to the title page head.
With an advertisement leaf to the rear.

A guide to hunting from British writer, planter, art collector and politician Sir Peter Beckford. A prominent member in the English fox hunting community, he owned a pack of hunting dogs and wrote this work as a guide to the practise.
Condition
Rebacked, retaining the original tree calf boards. Gilt detailing to back strip. Light rubbing to board perimeters. Hinges strained but firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Inscription to title page head. Spotting and foxing to engraved title page and plates, with pages bright and generally clean, with the odd spot.
