The first edition of this very scarce work, disbound but internally firmly bound and intact.
Previous owner's ink inscriptions to the first page.
A speech by the Rt. Hon. William Windham, delivered in the House of Commons on 13th June 1809, discussing Lord Erskine's Bill for the "more effectual prevention of cruelty towards animals".
This bill was accepted in the House of Lords, but had, at first, opposition in the House of Commons. Windham argues in this speech that this bill is incompatible with fox hunting and horse racing.
Condition
Disbound but internally firmly bound and intact. Externally generally smart, with small marks and ink inscriptions to the first page. Remnants of the backstrip to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a little offsetting to the text.
