Description

Decorative Binding, Illustrated

Containing the leaves regarding pneumatics only.

Illustrated with eleven plates, being nos. CCCCXXII-CCCCXXXIII.

Taken from the fourth edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. First published in three volumes between 1768 and 1771 in Edinburgh, the encyclopaedia quickly grew in volumes, with the second edition comprising ten volumes. This attracted important contributors to the general knowledge work, ensuring its legacy as one of the most important legacies of the Scottish Enlightenment. 

Bound in delightful marbled boards.

Condition

In paper covered boards. Externally very smart, with just some slight edgewear, including bumping to the head and tail of the spine and rubbing to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
