    Complete in four volumes.

    'Commentaries on the Laws of England' is an incredibly influential work on the common low of the eighteenth century, an important treatise.

    Volume I focuses on the rights of persons, Volume II on the rights of things, Volume III on private wrongs, and Volume IV on public wrongs.

    This work played a role in the development of the American legal system.

    Illustrated with a frontispiece to Volume I, and a folding genealogy to Volume II.

    The fifteenth edition of this work, with notes and additions by Edward Christian.

    Condition

    Rebound in a modern cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spines are a touch faded. A few very minor marks to the boards and spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with a few odd spots. Last two leaves of the appendix of Volume II have been repaired.
