A complete seven volume set of A Collection of Farces and other Afterpieces, which are acted at Theatres Royal, Drury Lane, Covent-Garden and Hay-Market.
Each volume contains plays which are comic farces using buffoonery and horseplay typically including crude characterisation and improbable situations. Some of the plays that appear across these volumes inlcude Child of Nature, a Drama, The Birth Day, The Critic, Lying Valet, Bon Ton, The First Floor and Midas.
With a bookplate for Charles Selvin to all front pastedowns.
Condition
All are in full calf binding. Externally, smart with some marks to the spines, some chipping to the spines of v and vii. Front joint is loosening to vol vii. With a bookplate for Charles Selvin to all front pastedowns. Scattered spots throughout the volumes but pages remain generally bright. All volumes are firmly bound.
