An early edition of this work.
In a custom slipcase. Slipcase in a very good condition.
A collection of the prose and verse of the caricaturist John Collier, written under the pseudonym Tim Bobbin.
The work includes Collier's view on the Lancashire dialect, and various entertaining character sketches.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, vignette to the title page, and one plate.
No collation is avaliable for this work.
Gathering F has been misbound between pages 48 and 49. The rest of the glossary has been bound between pages 54 and 109.
Blind stamp to the front endpaper, fron the library of the puppet theatre master John M. Blundall. Prior owner's ink inscription to the reverse of the front wrap.
Condition
In the original publisher's wrap in a custom paper covered slipcase. Externally, sound. Discolouration to the wraps, with heavy edgewear to the wraps and textblock, resulting in some loss to the fore edge of the front wrap. Some loss to the head and tail of the spine. Small crakcs to the spine. Prior owner has written 'Tim Bobbin' to the head of the spine. Tidemark to the front wrap. Small tape repair to the head of the rear wrap to the reverse. Blind stamp to the front endpaper. Slipcase is a little worn. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are age-toned with the odd spot and odd mark. Tidemark to the frontispiece. Gathering F has been misbound between pages 48 and 49, with a closed tear to one of the leaves. Small closed tear to the frontispiece, repaired with tape. Slipcase in a very good condition.
