New edition. The work was originally published in 1768.

With an illustrated frontispiece of John Byron meeting the Patagonians. 

An account of the voyage taken by John Byron, a midshipman who earned the nickname "Foul-Weather Jack" for his frequent encounters with bad weather at sea.

The account describes the voyage, as well as the inhabitants of St Jago de Chili, which is now called Wager Island. 

At the rear of the work contains a poem titled 'The Shipwreck' by WM. Falconer, dedicated to the loss of HMS Wager.

Condition

In full calf binding. Externally, Hinges starting. Internally, generally firmly bound with the frontispiece loosening. Pages have blue tone due to paper used. Offsetting and slight spotting to the endpapers.
