Evening Amusements was an annual publication, 'an astronomical elementary work of a new character, which had great success'. William Frend (1757–1841), religious writer, actuary, and social reformer. His series of volumes on the night sky, Evening Amusements, or, The Beauty of the Heavens Displayed, proved so popular that it ran from 1805 to 1824. DNB

Condition

In original paper covered boards. Externally rubbed, front joint cracked with slight loss to the spine. Internally, firmly bound, although textblock is split down the middle. Generally bright and clean with a few scattered spots, browning to the plates, and dusting to the textblock edges. Library label to front pastedown, several library watermarks throughout. Several unopened pages.
