The first edition of this work. A very scarce work. A collection of eight lectures by the churchman Richard Mant. The lectures were delivered on Passion-Week in 1803, 1804, and 1806, between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. Richard Mant was a prolific writer, who was best known for his 'History of the Church of Ireland'. He was appointed to the vicarages of various English parishes, before becoming a bishop in Ireland. His other works include 'The Simpliacais', a satirical poem, 'Ancient Hymns from the Roman Breviary', a collection of translated Latin hymns, and 'An Appeal to the Gospel'.
