1803 The Memoirs of a Villain or Singular Adventures of Joseph Saunders
What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Very Scarce
An extremely scarce work, with only one copy cited as being held institutionally by Worldcat.
Comprising two tales, 'The Memoirs of a Villain' and 'Anecdotes of a Miscreant'. This humorous and anecdotal work of fiction is written by Isaac Crookenden.
Crookenden wrote many works including 'Berthinia or The Fair Spaniard' and 'The Skeleton'.
He worked for four publishers and produced many chapbooks. Collated using copy from Worldcat, it seems this work is lacking the frontispiece. Undated, dated using colophon.
Disbound, as issued.
A charming picaresque chapbook.
Condition
Disbound, as issued. Externally, generally smart. Final leaf is detached but present. A few spots and marks to the front and rear leaves. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places.
