This is a fourth edition of this biographical dictionary, containing all manner of influential and important characters from across the globe and centuries. A very lovely and most useful insight into the education and knowledge at the turn of the nineteenth century. Contains an ownership inscription to a Maria Windsor, dated May 30th 1803 to the front blanks, followed by a prize inscription reading '2nd Prize Reward for correcting sundry little faults pointed out to her for her 'good'. By her Affec. Mother.' In a full straight grain morocco binding with gilt spine, borders and foredges.
Condition
Externally very smart, some rubbing to the extremities of the back cover. Prize and ownership inscription to the front blanks. Internally firmly bound, pages bright and clean.
