A collection of letters written by soldiers in Napoleon Bonaparte's army during the French campaign in Egypt and Syria.

The letter's offer a touching and insightful look into Bonaparte's campaign, with details on the military exploits, as well as personal touches of the soldiers. However, the letters were intercepted by Nelson's fleet.

Bonaparte's campaign was intended to defend French trade interests, and to weaken Britain's access to India.

The campaign was ended by Sir Horatio Nelson, when the British fleet captured or destroyed all but two of the French vessels.
