An abridged edition of Louis Chambaud's important French to English dictionary.
This small volume includes French-English and English-French, with extensive notes on grammar, idioms, proverbs,monetary values, measures, artistic and scientific terms, and more, referring both the 'Dictionary of the French Academy', and Johnson's 'Dictionary'.
Abridged by John Perrin.
This new edition was corrected and improved by M. Moysant.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally, a little rubbed. Front joint is starting but firm. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, with loss to the head of the spine. Small crack to the head and tail of the rear joint. Hinges are starting but firm. Prior owner's ink notes to the front paste down, and to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean.
