The first edition of this sought after account of the 1796 Treason Trials, which were intended to cripple the radical movement of the 1790s. 

While over a dozen radicals were arrested, Thomas Hardy, John Horne Took, and John Thelwall were on trial for high treason. They were all acquitted by three separate juries in a repudiation of the government's policies.
