Includes A Review of the Life, Character and Writings of the Rev. John Biddle, Who Was Banished to the Isle of Scilly, in the Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell by Joshua Toulmin. John Biddle was often regarded as the Father of English Unitarianism. This is an early reprint of this work, by the theologian Joshua Toulmin (1740-1815), first published in 1789.
Bound with The Life of Mr. Thomas Firmin, Late Citizen of London, Written by One of His Most Intimate Acquaintance, with a Sermon, on Luke X. 36, 37, Preached on the Occasion of His Death. By Stephen Nye (1648-1719), English clergyman, theologian, and fellow Unitarian. This has been reprinted from the edition of 1698.

In paper covered boards. Externally, fair. The spine is missing. There is some bumping to the extremities and wear to the binding. The front hinge is starting but firm. The rear hinge is held by cords only. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot.
