An important work on the history of the Royal Hospital for Seamen at Greenwich.
With a wonderful engraved folding frontispiece depicting a river view of the hospital after a drawing by Thomas Lancey. Lancey was at the hospital following a dislocated hip which led to his being a master there. With three other engraved plates of the hospital.
With the errata slip pasted to the final leaf and to page 107 as called for.

Condition
In a contemporary tree calf binding. Externally, very smart. Light shelfwear to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with occasional light spots to pages.
