What Our Customers Say...

Description

An Important Work, First Edition, Leather Binding, Rebound

An important philosophic work of the Scottish Enlightenment, propositioning a defence of free agency in opposition to determinism.

The sought after first edition of this major work.

Written by eighteenth-century philosopher Thomas Reid.

This was Reid's second major work, following his noted Essays on Intellectual Powers of Man. Deriving mainly from his lectures, this was his last major work, and appeared in the same year as Kant's 'Critic der Praktischen Vernunft'. Thomas Reid succeeded Adam Smith in the chair of Moral Philosophy at Edinburgh in 1764.
