Leather Binding
A two volume French-English and English-French dictionary compiled by lexicographer Abel Boyer. Best known for this reference work originally published in 1699, the dictionary has been the basis of many subsequence French-English dictionaries. The fifteenth edition includes accents of both English an French words to facilitate pronunciation, as well as new maritime words, and an alphabetical table of English particles.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards, a little more so to the spine. There is a chip at the spine label of volume I. Lightly worn to the head of the spine, more so to the tail. Volume II is missing a tiny bit of calf to the tail of the spine. A little bumped at the extremities. The rear hinge is starting, but firm to volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned but generally clean throughout.
