First edition of The Discipline of the Light-Horse by Captain Hinde in full calf binding. 

An uncommon work especially in the first edition. 

Captain Hinde was an army officer of the Royal Regiment of Foresters (Light-Dragoons). 

Illustrated with copper plates. 

Collated with a frontispiece, a plate to page 150, one folding plan to page 122, two folding plans facing page 208, and a folding table to page 371. 

Prior owner's book plate and ink inscription to the first pastedown and first free endpaper. From the library of Chris Jefferson.

Condition

In full calf binding. Externally, sound. There is rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The joints are cracked. The front hinge is held by cords only. Prior owner's book plate and ink inscription to the first pastedown and first free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are generally bright and clean with some spotting throughout.
