What Our Customers Say...

Description

Leather Binding, Signed Binding, Very Scarce

The very scarce Bickerstaff almanac for 1776, this work of astronomy details the phases of the moon, sun and weather for each month of the year, and is followed by a short number of anonymously authored poems and anecdotes on the same subjects. The final leaf contains a chart identifying the weight and value of coins in New England.

There remains some debate as to whether the calculations of this edition were completed by Ezra Gleason or Samuel Stearns.

With the publisher's advertisement for printing and bookbinding to the tail of the final leaf, as called for.

ESTC reference W25596. Collated, lacking the title page, leaf [A1]. With the register [A2-4], B-C4
