Bound in a very smart half calf with cloth boards.

'England's Bloody Tribunal' provides a detailed account of the lives, religious beliefs and deaths of various English Protestant martyrs, documenting their harsh persecution, suffering and the torture they endured.

During the English Reformation, a number of Protestants were executed, accused of heresy, many of which are documented in this work. Taylor highlights the role of the Pope and the Catholic Church in these atrocious acts, also examining of the methods of inquisition used in different parts of the world.

Illustrated with twenty-four engraved plates and a folding frontispiece.

Collated, complete.

Condition

Bound in a very smart half calf with cloth boards. Endpapers renewed. Externally, excellent, with minor rubbing and the odd mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright, with a little age toning and the occasional area of light spotting.
