Each play is individually paginated, and features an engraved frontispiece, and letterpress title page.

An engraved title page advertising this as the third volume Bell's Shakespeare appears to the start of the work. Bell's edition was one of the first affordable and widely available editions of Shakespeare's works. In making Shakespeare's works accessible to a wider audience, this edition helped to popularize his plays and make them a staple of English literature.

Condition

In a full calf binding. With light rubbing to back strip head and tail, board perimeters and raised bands. Hinges strained, but firmly held. Front free endpaper detached but loosely inserted. Inscription to a front blank, head of general title page, and head of 'King Richard the Third' title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned, with light spotting throughout.
