What Our Customers Say...

Description

Folding Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Scarce

In Latin.

Scarce editions.

Two important textbooks on the history and structure of Roman law.

Both of these works show a fascinating insight into the habits of the Romans, how the law was laid out and how they lived by it.

A wonderful resource on Roman history.

Volume I of 'Pandectarum' illustrated with a folding plate.

'Elementa Juris Civilis Secundum Ordinem Pandectarum', published in 1772, complete in two volumes. None of this edition on ESTC.

'Elementa Juris Civilis Secundum Ordinem Instituionum', published in 1780, complete in one volume. ESTC citation number N9119.

By Johann Gottlieb Heineccius, a German jurist. He endeavoured to approach and treat law as a rational science, evident in these studies of historical Roman law.

'Pandectarum' Volume I ends on the catchword 'PAND', however the pagination corresponds with copies on WorldCat and doesn't appear to be lacking any leaves.
