Very scarce works.
A collection of five works on peers bound together.
The last two works were written and published by Charles Young, whose bookplate is to the front pastedown. The manuscript is written in his hand.
Young was an English officer of arms, and was in the heraldic office of Garter King of Arms, and a senior member of the College of Arms in England.
Containing;
'A List of the Peers Existing at the Time of King James I', published in 1772, with no publisher stated to the title page.
'A Companion to the Peerage of Great-Britain and Ireland', published in 1776 by H. Reynell, collected by Joseph Edmondson.
The third work bound here is a handwritten manuscript, on peerages.
'Catalogue of Works on the Peerage of England, Scotland, and Ireland', published in 1826 by C. G. Young.
'Catalogue of Works on the Peerage and Baronetage of England, Scotland, and Ireland', published by Chas, Geo. Young in 1827.

Condition
Rebound in a quarter cloth binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. A couple of light marks to the spine label. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Bookseller's label to the rear pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and clean with a few spot, mostly to the first work. The very occasional ink annotations to the text. Prior owner's ink inscription to the title page of 'Catalogue of Works' 1827.
