The poetry of Anne Penny, a Welsh poet who is known for her pastoral poems and nationalist Welsh works.
This volume includes a total of thirty-four poems, such as 'Reflections in the Absence of Daphne', 'The Party Coloured Shield', 'On the Royal Nuptials', and more, including her translations of 'Poem to Prince Elphin' and Evan Evans's 'An Elegy on Neest'.
Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the the University of Oxford Libraries.
Bound without the half-title.
Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, noting a brief life of the author.
Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally, front board is detached but present. Rear joint is starting. Boards and spine are rubbed, with some discolouration to the extremities of the boards. Bumping to the extremities. A small amount of loss to the head and tail of the spine. Front endpaper is almost detached. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with some spots. Title page and dedication leaf is almost detached.
