A series of charming french literature from Jean-Franois Marmontel, famous for its delicate finish of style, and in the portrayal of society under King Louis XV. With armorial bookplate of Sir Baldwin Leighton, English politician, to the front board of each volume. Complete in three volumes.

Condition

In speckled calf bindings with gilt design to the spines. Externally, sound with only light rubbing and wear to the spines. All hinges are slightly strained but firm joints starting. Internally, all are firmly bound with bright and clean pages, aside from light off-setting to endpapers, and the odd spot scattered throughout the text.
