Description

Leather Binding

The second edition of this translation.

A faithful translation of Euclid's influential mathematical treatise 'Elements', first published around 300 BC.

This is an incredibly influential mathematical work by the Ancient Greek geometer and logician, who is considered to be the "father of geometry".

'The Elements of Euclid' established the foundations of geometrical theory, and still remains a standard text on the subject, dominating the academic sphere until the early nineteenth century.

With the occasional in-text diagram.

This translation and analysis was penned by Robert Simson, a mathematician who taught at the University of Glasgow.

Bound without the front endpaper.
