An interesting treatise discussing the managing of charity schools and workhouses in Bedford, and the education of the children in those institutions. 

This work also looks at the misuse of the funds of the Bedford Charity, also known as the Harpur Trust. Sir William Harpur founded this trust in the sixteenth century to benefit the people who live in and around Bedford by offering relief, and providing and promoting education. 

Anonymously written under the pen-name 'Justus'.

Unbound, as issued. Externally, the ouver leaves are lightly age-toned with minor handling marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with the occasional light handling mark.
