An incredibly information accompanying work to the Bible, containing a complete list of words found in the bible, offering reference to the passage each word is used in, and a short quote as well, showing how each word has been used. An early concordance. The concordance is intended to be used alongside the King James' Bible, which was publishes the century before this concordance was first published in 1737. This concordance has never been out of print since its publication. Illustrated with a frontispiece. Written by Alexander Cruden, who is best known for this work. It is known that he worked on this work from 7am to 1am every day, and thus completed the bulk of the work within a year. He started the work in 1735. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'Rebeccah Stevens, Wycomb, 1789', and 'Mary Steevens Junior, 1809'.
