What Our Customers Say...
Description
Leather Binding
Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece to each volume.
Running between 1709 and 1711, 'The Tatler' was a British literary and society journal begun by Richard Steele, with significant contributions from Joseph Addison.
It represented a new approach to journalism, featuring cultivated essays on contemporary matters, and established the pattern that would be copied in such works as Addison and Steele's The Spectator, and Samuel Johnson's The Rambler and The Idler.
