Rebound in half morocco binding.
Published by order of the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, at the desire of the Court-Martial.
Byng entered the Navy in 1718 when he was just fourteen years old. In 1756 he failed an attempt to relieve Minorca largely as a result of under manning, and was brought back to England under arrest. He was acquitted of cowardice or disaffection but found guilty of neglect of duty and condemned to death.
Scarce to find this document with the five folding maps to the rear in tact.
Condition
In rebound half morocco binding. Externally, very smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some slight wear to the leather on the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages bright and clean, and are slightly edge worn and with have some slight aging and spotting.
