The first edition of this work. A scarce work. In the original French. 'De La Manoeuvre des Vaisseaux' is a French work looking at the mechanics and dynamics in relation to the ships of the Navy. The author looks at difficult naval problems, and reduces them to simple solutions of the movement of the ships. Written by Pierre Bouguer, a French mathematician, astronomer, and naval architect. He published his first treatise of naval architecture in 1746, titled 'Traite du Navire', which explained the use of the metacenter as a measure of a ships' stability. With fifteen folding plates.
