This is a wonderful volume containing over one hundred genealogies of England's nobility. This is the tenth edition, corrected and enlarged with an introduction by Francis Nichols. Volume I consists of 'the Genealogies of all the Nobility of England, their Titles, Posts and Seats. Also, their Coronation Robes, with their Arms, Crests, Supporters and Mottos, exactly engraved on Copper Plates. To which is added, an Account of the Officers of State, the Institution and Investiture of Several Orders of Knighthood, and Lists of the said Orders to the Present Time.'

Illustrated with a frontispiece of King George II, as well as the wonderfully illustrated full plate crests and arms, comprising the first one hundred and forty eight pages.

Volume I only but complete in itself, volume II and III were published in the same year, volume II containing 'The Earls, with the Titles of the eldest sons of dukes, marquesses and earls'. Vol III contains 'Viscounts, Bishops and Barons'.

Condition

In a modern full calf binding. Externally lovely. Internally firmly bound, pages bright and clean, insect damage to the bottom right hand corner between the front endpapers and middle of the book (page 18), has not damaged any of the text or images, only a single spot for the majority of the pages.
