Written by John Boyle, the fifth Earl of Orrery. Boyle was a friend of Swift, and this memoir is comprised of letters Boyle wrote to his son Hamilton Boyle.
Presented as a series of letters from John Earl of Orrery, to his son, the honourable Hamilton Boyle.
With the bookplate of one Francis Pigott Esq to the front pastedown. A second bookplate to the verso of title page, Jacob Shard Esq.
Condition
In a contemporary calf binding. Rebacked, with the original boards preserved. Externally, very smart. The occasional light marks to the boards. Bookplates to the front pastedown and to the verso of title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Scattered spots to the endpapers. Otherwise, pages are very clean.
